ITALIAN DEPUTY DEFENSE MINISTER ARRIVES IN TBILISI

Philippo Berselli arrived in Tbilisi on 13 July to discuss expanding bilateral military cooperation, Civil Georgia reported. The visit follows a recent agreement under which the Italian Defense Ministry will provide new military equipment to Georgia. Berselli met with President Eduard Shevardnadze, Foreign Minister Irakli Menagharishvili, and parliament speaker Nino Burdjanadze, as well as with his Georgian counterpart, Lieutenant General David Tevzadze.
